This Weekend…

… has been pretty cool so far.

Went out last night and got pretty damn drunk. Yay!

Then went to Wakefied today to hang out with Ryan. We went to Burger King (awesome hangover food), then around Xscape before going back to Ryan’s to play FIFA and watch the Argentina v Germany game. Shame zee Germans won, Messi didn’t get to score in the world cup. But oh well, never mind. Holland are still in it. This ish good, ya? haha

Peace out

GARGH! HEAT!?!?!

Erm… just an update in the things in my life at the minute I guess.

Football – Well England are out of the world cup, not that I’m surprised. I don’t know if I’m even that bothered. From the very start I’ve been wanting either Spain or Holland to win. Where as England didn’t even deserve to qualify from the group stage.

Tennis – Not had much of a chance to watch Wimbledon this year, what with the World Cup being on and already Andy Roddick is out. Boo.

Work – Work is going ok, just plugging through. My line manager is away on holiday for two weeks from Friday, so my work load will double, but oh well. Nothing I cant handle *gulps*

Fitness – I’ve been going to the gym recently and I’m really proud of how I did today! I managed to finish my 5km run in around 32 minutes, which might not sound all that great, but I managed to do it with out stopping to walk at all. In fact, I did it by starting on 9km/h (it was on a treadmill) and gradually increased up to 14km/h. I even managed to make it through the weight machines as well! So yeah, very proud of myself today.

Abi – Abi is currently in Canada visiting family, after being in LA for 10 days. Very gutted not to be out there, very jealous as she is somewhere I would love to be and more then anything, missing her loads and loads. I can’t wait for her to come back. I’m currently trying to organise our anniversary, which is making my head hurt. I thought I had found the perfect plan, but it worked out just a tad too expensive *sad face* but hopefully I’ll work something out that she will be happy with.

I think that’s about it for now. I also start writing these with the intention of making them nice and long, but then I can’t think of anything haha.

Anyways, peace out

Things I have learnt today…

1 – England are shite at football
2 – Watching football with my uncle and aunt is dreadful
3 – I’m not made for warm weather

World Cup Fever!

Today is the 3rd day of the 2010 World Cup and I have so far seen 5 games and am watching my 6th (Germany v Australia).

So far, nothing outstanding. The big players of the world cup seem yet to have made much of an impact (although Klose has scored for Germany) and I wonder if that has something to do with the ball or the pitch or even the altitude. I don’t mean the football has been boring, in fact there has been some pretty good football. But most of the medium to long range passes have been maybe a yard or two off target when you expect them to be spot on.

Ribery didn’t have a particularly outstanding game in France’s nil-nil draw against Uruguay and Messi played well but didn’t managed to get on the score sheet.

The England game was a mixture of positives and negatives. Biggest positive = Stevie G. Gerrard played a blinder, proving he can can lead his country as well as play at the top of his own game. He took his goal very well and put in a number of top notch tackles and some good quality passes. Heskey also seemed to play well, helping my argument that he can bring the best out of Rooney by taking the pressure of holding the ball from him.

My problem with Rooney is he is too good and too eager to do well. I get the impression that he regularly feels he needs to be the one running the show and in doing so, ends up out of position looking to set other players up rather then waiting in the box for the ball. I wish I could just tell him to calm down, play the striker role and stay upfront!

I know I have just said about Heskey bringing the best out of Rooney, but I would like us to try replacing Heskey with Gerrard playing just off Rooney. Gerrard has enough quality and strength to get in good balls for Rooney and be there for the follow up should a defender or goalie get a block in. It also enables Capello to free up a spot to put his ‘favourite’ Barry in the team should he wish (although if you ask me, Barry is the most average player EVER). And should Capello argue that Gerrard needs to play on the left wing, I would respectfully tell him to fuck off and put Joe Cole on the left wing.

Joe Cole should be starting on the left. Full Stop. The only player we have that seems comfortable on the left and the only player that works well with Ashley on left, partly due to them playing together at Chelsea and partly due to Cole’s desire to cut in field.

Anyway, enough of me wining about Capello, I think I might get ready for bed. Not had the best of days today. I had hardly any sleep and I had to say good bye to Abi because I’m not going to see her for ages now as she is going to the US and to Canada. Gutted so much. Couldn’t stop crying on the train, got some right funny looks from the other passengers.

Peace out

Just for the record

My starting eleven would be:
gk- joe hart

dl- Ashley cole
dc- john terry
dc- ledley king
dr- glen Johnson

ml- joe cole
mc- James milner
mc- frank lampard
mr- Aaron Lennon

amc- Steven gerrard

st- Wayne Rooney

I think we would stand a chance of coming in the top 4 as log as we don’t lose any of these players to injury or suspension.

Spain to win
Argentina second
brazil third
England fourth
