Tomorrow is always a better day…
So the last couple of weeks have been pretty tough, especially at work. Nothing really seems to have gone my way at work. Every time I think I’m making progress with a query, something else pops up and I have to deal with that. There’s a query I’ve been trying to look at for almost 2 weeks now and I feel like I’m ramming my head against a brick wall at the moment.
On a happier note, I had a second interview for the Digital Designer role I’ve applied for at work. Not sure how accurate they were with the numbers, but they said out of 20 applicants that 3 had got second interviews (me being one of them) so I must have done something right. I guess at the minute it’s a case of which face fits. The interview was on Monday and they said they would were hoping to made a decision by the end of the week (tomorrow!). So I’ve been kinda giddy since then, waiting to hear back. With it being Thursday today, part of me just wanted to stay sat at my desk waiting for my phone to ring, but unfortunately I had training sessions to teach and things to do. I’m kind of an impatient person and I’m dying to hear back, whether it’s good news or not. I have a good feeling and I have learnt to trust my gut feelings recently. But I’m trying really hard not to get too psyched up about the job, because if I do that and then don’t get the job I’ll be gutted.
Not sure if I’ve mentioned it on here before, but I’m to Leeds festival over the August bank holiday. So looking forward to it. It’s going to be my first music festival, but I’m off with Abi, Ryan and Ash (Ryan’s mate) and I reckon it’s going to be a right laugh. Me and Ryan have been thinking about what we’re going to take clothes wise and we thought it would be cool if we got some New Era baseball caps. So obviously, I went and got a black pinstriped Iron Man one! Haha. Not sure if I’m really cool enough to wear it, but oh well, it’ll be a laugh at the very least. I’ve also bought some nice SkullCandy headphones which I’m well happy with. Only two bad things about them though. Firstly, no sharing music with them in. Secondly, no hands free for my iPhone. But it’s not the end of the world and the sound quality is so mint. And they are comfy as hell.
I went snowboarding on Monday for the first time in ages. I hurt my calf muscle but I tried to keep going for as long as possible. I bombed it down the slope for the first few runs, but then I started trying to work on my turns. They weren’t really quick or anything, but I was really proud of the progress I made on my turns after not having done them in ages. I’ve also started going to the gym with Ryan. Been once a week for the last couple of weeks but am aiming to go a couple of times if we can get flexi sorted out at work. Feeling a bit sore the next day, but at least I know it’s working if I’m sore. If I’m not sore, I know I haven’t worked hard enough.
Alright, I think this is my longest post so far so I’m going to call it a day now. I’m off to work tomorrow, then Manchester to see Abi for the weekend and then down to Luton to stay at my mate, David’s. We’re going to see Jimmy Carr live on Tuesday and I’m so looking forward to it. Also hoping to do some Parkour whilst I’m down there. It should be amazing.
I hope you wont mind me saying I’m keeping everything crossed for tomorrow. If I don’t hear anything back tomorrow though, I have to wait until next Thursday to find out and I don’t know if I’ll be able to concentrate this weekend.
Alright, peace
